Ergonomic gloves are cut-resistant

An Australian Exhibitions and Conferences product story

Ansell will exhibit an expanded range of 'ergonomic' safety gloves at The Safety Show, Sydney, Australia, from 26-28 October 2005.

The first step to reducing hand injuries is to offer gloves that workers will wear, according to Ansell.

In line with that philosophy, the glove giant will exhibit an expanded range of 'ergonomic' safety gloves at The Safety Show, Sydney, Australia, from 26-28 October 2005.

Ansell cites national workers compensation statistics showing that one-third of all workplace injuries are to the upper limbs (hands, fingers and thumbs).

Gloves protect hands very effectively, Ansell says, but the company points out that workers are reluctant to don bulky, uncomfortable gloves.

In response, Ansell developed the lightweight, form-fitting HyFlex general-purpose glove range.

Among the HyFlex gloves is a cut-resistant seamless glove woven from Intercept fibres - a brand new yarn that contains a combination of spandex, cotton, Kevlar and a stainless steel thread.

Intercept's qualities provide a high level of cut protection without compromising comfort and flexibility, according to Ansell.

Since the release of the original HyFlex 11-800 Foam glove, which Ansell hails as a top-seller, the company has expanded the range to suit diverse industries from electronics to heavy metal manufacturing.

Try on the Hyflex gloves and test them for cut resistance at Ansell's stand E50 at The Safety Show, Sydney, which runs from 26-28 October 2005 at the Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park, Australia.
