'Smart' retractable blade safety cutters will be a feature of the Martor Australia stand at The Safety Show, Sydney, Australia, from 26-28 October 2005.

'Smart' retractable blade safety cutters will be a feature of the Martor Australia stand at The Safety Show, Sydney, Australia, from 26-28 October 2005 Among the extensive range of 'smart' knives is the Maxisafe

Its spring-loaded slide system retracts the blade in the event of any uncontrolled move, even if the thumb-push slider is in the forward position.

Another unit, the Ultrasafe, is equipped with a smart edge blade guard that automatically deploys the moment the blade moves clear of the cut.

The Lewis Knife is equally as innovative.

A spring-loaded locking safety hood snaps shut and locks as soon as contact is lost with the cutting surface, even when the release hood remains depressed.

Martor says its knives can dramatically decrease and even eliminate workplace cutting related injuries.

Lacerations, says Martor, are the second most common cause of Australian workers compensation figures and reductions achieved using its knives reap substantial savings.

Martor will also release new eyewear and a multi-purpose eye mist at The Safety Show.

The Safety Eyewear boasts contemporary design and compliance with AS/NZS1067:2003, while the Oxygen Vitality multi-purpose eye mist refreshes dry, tired, sore eyes.

Martor says Oxygen Vitality also protects eyes from environmental pollutants, dust, grit and fumes.

For demonstrations of the smart retractable cutters and Martor's new eye protection, visit stand H36 at the Safety Show Sydney, which runs from 26-28 October 2005 at the Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park, Australia.
