Precision Optical Imaging of USA, Armstrong Optical of Northampton has announced the immediate availability of a software package for MTF analysis of optical systems from any digital image.

With the ready availability of high performance digital still and video camera systems it is becoming more important to be able to objectively test camera performance easily and simply As an addition to the standard range of camera and optical test charts from Precision Optical Imaging of Rochester USA, Armstrong Optical of Northampton has announced the immediate availability of a software package for MTF analysis of optical systems from any digital image

The software package is offered as a free item on purchase of any of the ISO 12233 resolution charts, which are available in five different sizes and in two materials (photographic paper or opel glass with black chrome).

Alongside the ISO 12233 resolution chart, the ISO 15739 noise and ISO 14524 contrast charts complete the set.

Other charts for image testing include the EIA resolution and grey-scale targets, the IEEE, FBI and Distortion test targets.

Star targets, sector stars, Sayce Log, NBS and USAF standards are also available from the range.

For end-users requiring a customised test chart, produced to their own specification, Armstrong Optical offers a complete manufacturing and after-sales service.
