In association with Armstrong Optical, their European distributor, Sydor Optics of Rochester, USA are introducing a range of laser optics alongside their range of wafers and plano-optics for which they are better known.

Manufactured in the USA from single crystal ingots grown from highly purified material in furnaces, this material offers additional choice to optical designers for the most stringent design applications.

The components are available either as precision machined blanks or as polished flat-surfaced optics with transmitted wavefront error of <1/10 wave, surface flatness to <1/20 wave and surface quality to <10-5.

Ideal for components such as lenses, prisms, wedges and windows the materials are availabe in four grades: ArF excimer grade (193nm), KrF excimer grade (248nm), UV-VIS grade (250-6100nm), IR grade (800-7500nm).

All the grades are supplied in the <111> crystal orientation for ease of manufacture and optimum optical properties, and the consistent crystal orientation ensures repeatable fabrication and batch consistency.

"With the industry trend towards increased material quality and more competitive pricing Sydor Optics is supplying first class product at just the right time, to the required specifiation at optimum pricing..."., said Armstrong Director of Sales, Ian Johnstone.
