Combining PLM and CRM enhances trading links
Combination of PLM and CRM solutions enables manufacturing organizations to track products throughout product lifecycle for enhanced collaboration with customers and suppliers.
Baan, the leading enterprise application provider for industrial enterprises and part of Invensys plc, has extended the functionality of its iBaan for Product Lifecycle Management (iBaan for PLM) solution with the announcement of new integration to iBaan for CRM.
For the first time, this combination will provide manufacturing organizations with enhanced collaboration capabilities throughout a product's lifecycle - internally across all departments including engineering, sales and marketing and management, and externally with suppliers and customers.
This enhanced functionality can enable companies - particularly in the Engineer To Order environment - to manufacture components that specifically meet the customer's needs with greater accuracy and speed.
iBaan for PLM provides discrete manufacturers with the ability to support and maintain a closed-loop system that can help them manage all aspects of a product's lifecycle within one virtual, yet comprehensive environment.
iBaan for CRM supports an end-to-end analytical function across the entire enterprise, consolidating key information from multiple touchpoints to help the enterprise identify and report on the true measures of success.
By integrating the two solutions, Baan can enable manufacturers to further enhance collaboration across the value chain and drive efficiency and profitable growth through enhanced customer intimacy and product leadership.
Dennis van Bodegom, Director, Product Marketing - Product Lifecycle Management at Baan said: "Previously, components have been configured by specialist engineers, but stakeholders such as marketing and finance professionals, as well as external partners including suppliers and customers, increasingly need to be involved.
"iBaan for PLM solutions are based on over 20 years of expertise in engineering and information management, offering best-of-breed functionality and stability.
By linking iBaan for PLM with iBaan for CRM we are enhancing collaboration capabilities to enable companies in today's uncertain economy to secure product leadership, customer intimacy, and operational excellence," continued Dennis van Bodegom.
iBaan for Product Lifecycle Management can help companies to compete more effectively, increase market share, build on long-term stability and ultimately become more profitable.
This can be achieved through the combination of existing tools, processes, and knowledge assets, all transformed into comprehensive, cohesive information and processes, equally usable and valuable to all parties involved, including within the organization, with business partners, suppliers, or vendors.
iBaan for Product Lifecycle Management is part of the iBaan suite of Internet-enabled solutions that combines proven Baan technology with new developments to enable customers to take significant steps towards seamlessly integrating systems and processes.
It provides end-users with personalized and easy-to-use information, and empowers businesses to collaborate with their customers and suppliers over the Internet.
