Baan appoints VP and UK managing
director

Prior to taking the global role, Catherine Sigmar was VP Operations for the Americas where she played a key role in the Baan Americas business.
Catherine's appointment is part of Baan's new global sales organisation, led by Susan Heystee, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Solution Sales and Delivery.
It was established to develop global sales initiatives and add new capability in more than 60 countries to support the increasing number of industrial companies operating internationally.
Commenting on the appointment of Catherine Sigmar, Susan Heystee said: "I am delighted that Catherine Sigmar has been appointed as VP and Managing Director for the Baan UK region.
Catherine will have overall responsibility for Baan operations in the UK and will continue to report directly to me.
The UK is one of the key territories targeted by our new solution sales and delivery organisation.
When Catherine held the World Wide Operations role, we identified an ideal fit - the development of the UK region with Catherine's experience - understanding customer needs, managing customer relations, and driving results." Before joining Baan, Catherine Sigmar worked for SSA for six years in an international legal role, based primarily in the US with regular visits to the company's European headquarters in the UK.
Prior to SSA, she worked in the foreign tax department at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Chicago for three years, dealing exclusively with European companies and US companies with a major European presence.
Catherine Sigmar joined Baan in 1997 as Counsel to Baan USA where she was responsible for developing the licensing process, assisting in license negotiation and training the sales team.
Her role expanded to include Canada and South America, and soon grew to VP and Senior Corporate Counsel charged with managing a broad range of legal services in the Americas.
In 2001 she became Vice President of Operations for the Americas, extending her sales support and experience throughout the Americas.
In this role, she has helped the company pursue its goals in the Americas over the last two years.
Catherine Sigmar has an undergraduate degree from Queens University in Canada, an LLB from University of Western Ontario, Canada and a JD from Kent Law School (IIT) in Chicago, USA.
