Arc welding cell increases production capacity
A standard robotic arc welding cell has automated much of the welding at a fabricator and has resulted in an increase in production capacity and more consistent quality.
The latest standard arc welding cell in the OH range to be manufactured by Bauromat (UK) has automated much of the welding at the Pershore factory of MJH Fabrications, which specialises in sheet metal laser cutting, punching and bending.
The results are an increase in production capacity and more consistent quality.
Mike Hemmings, Managing Director, stated, "Until now, all our welding was performed manually, which limited output and resulted in variable quality.
Investing in a robotic welding cell was the natural progression to complement our CNC laser cutters and CNC presses.
We can now fully automate all of our processes and our increased capacity allows us to quote for higher volume work than before." OH cells are competitively priced, standard packages assembled using high quality, proven components such as Hyundai robots, Miller power sources and Tweco torches/wire feeds.
The range includes fixed-table cells in a variety of configurations with manual or powered safety doors, as well as rotary turntable cells (manual or powered), and ferris-wheel type, flip-over manipulators.
Standard cells from GBP 32,000 with full warranty are less expensive than many re-furbished systems, according to Bauromat's Managing Director, Gordon Biggs.
He explained that competitive prices are achieved through standardisation of packages that have been value-engineered over many years.
