UK manufacturing output rise is
encouraging
Commenting on the ONS Manufacturing (Index of Production) figures for November 2006, Barclays said it may only be an incremental rise, it is still a nudge in the right direction.
Commenting on the ONS Manufacturing (Index of Production) figures for November 2006, Tony Walsh, national director of Manufacturing at Barclays, said: "When it comes to assessing the overall impact of these figures, it's very much a case of every little helps when it comes to month on month increases Whilst it may only be an incremental rise, it is still a nudge in the right direction and these nudges, over the course of 2006, have culminated in 2006 being the strongest year for manufacturing output for some time." He added: "Compared with the same period last year, output is up 2.4% and starts 2007 on a very positive note
