Ethernet motion package supports
automation

A motion controller and drive package compatible with industrial Ethernet Powerlink protocol provides automation builders with significant cost and operational benefits.

Baldor will be demonstrating a motion controller and drive package compatible with the powerful industrial Ethernet Powerlink protocol at Machine Building and automation 2005 The new technology provides automation builders with significant cost and operational benefits

The new single-axis servo drive provides a dual-port Ethernet interface to support the daisy chaining of drives.

There is also a CANopen interface to provide a low-cost means of adding remote I/O and HMI components into the machine control system.

To complement this drive, Baldor has developed a packaged motion controller that will control up to 16 networked drives, as well as three axes of traditional analogue drives.

The controller also incorporates analogue and digital I/O, a CAN open interface, and a USB interface for easy integration with PCs.

Compatibility with both the Mint motion language and ActiveX provides support for rapid application development.

Baldor will also be introducing two novel new motors at the show.

One is an all stainless steel servo motor with a smooth finish, designed for machinery builders in the pharmaceutical and food industries.

The other integrates onboard drive electronics into a micro-stepping motor case - providing a level of compactness that is ideal wherever space is limited or installation simplicity is important.

Target applications include medical devices, machinery adjustment and robotics. Request a free brochure from Baldor UK ...
