Sensors ignore objects they do not
recognise
Background suppression sensors will only detect objects within their preset sensing range and ignore all others outside the range regardless of the object's surface reflectivity.
Banner Engineering has announced new World-Beam QS18FF background suppression sensors that are ready to use "right out of the box" Users can select from preprogrammed models for 50mm (2in) or 100mm (4in) fixed-field sensing ranges where the sensors will only detect objects within their preset sensing range and ignore all others outside the range regardless of the object's surface reflectivity

Lasers offered at under $155 for precise sensing
Retroreflective laser sensors, at less than $155.00, feature an extremely small, tightly collimated 4mm laser sensing beam for precise sensing at ranges up to 18m.
And, because the QS18FF sensors do not contain any adjustment push buttons, DIP switches or knobs, they are less at risk for any tampering or altering.
Users simply mount the sensor so that the target will pass within the predefined sensing range and they are ready to begin operating.
Also, especially significant is the QS18FF's highly competitive $69.00 price! "Banner's new World-Beam QS18FF sensors are an exceptionally flexible and affordable fixed-field sensing solution with clear superiority over any other available compact background suppression product on the market today," said Joe Dolinsky, Technical Manager for Banner's photoelectric products.

Sensors beam through dusty/mist-laden environments
High-power sensors provide maximum excess gain (burn-through) for accurate reliable sensing in applications with heavy fog, dust and industrial process contamination.
"With a small form factor, convenient mounting options and low cost, this is an easy to apply solution for accurate sensing in confined applications such as on packaging or assembly equipment and small conveyors and feeder bowls -making it ideal for the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, packaging and material handling markets," Dolinsky added.
A visible red spot generated by the sensor's high power output LED makes target positioning quick and easy by providing a visual confirmation of the exact target point to be sensed.
An addition to Banner's already extensive QS18 product offering, the QS18FF models share many of the same features and attributes that have made this product family so successful.
Features include 10 to 30V dc supply voltage and the highly versatile and compact fully-sealed 18 mm World-Beam housing that offers convenient mounting options via its threaded-nose or side-mounting holes.
These robust little sensors also feature excellent EMI, RFI and optical noise immunity, NPN or PNP outputs, LED status indicators visible from 360deg, a wide assortment of mounting and protective brackets as well as a range of cable options including integral Pico-style and Euro-style quick-disconnect connectors.
Banner Engineering is the world's leading manufacturer of photoelectric and ultrasonic sensors, fiber optic assemblies, electronic machine guarding systems, and precision measurement systems.
