Light screens are electrostatic discharge-safe

A Banner Engineering product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Jan 17, 2006

Optical safety light screen systems have nickel-plated housings and end caps, dissipative lens assemblies and include models that will dissipate electrostatic discharge.

Banner Engineering's EZ-Screen line of machine safety products now includes models that dissipate electrostatic discharge (ESD).

These ESD-safe optical safety light screen systems have nickel-plated housings and end caps and have dissipative lens assemblies.

ESD-safe light screens are ideal for a wide variety of safe guarding applications in the semiconductor and electronics industries.

ESD-safe EZ-Screen models have the same features as standard models, including the following: * They provide non-contact machine guarding for finger, hand and ankle detection.

* Self-contained emitter/receiver pairs do not require a separate control box.

* Excellent optical design simplifies alignment and maintenance.

* 14mm resolution models provide finger, hand and ankle detection with a range of 0.1 to 6m.

* 30mm models provide hand and ankle detection with a range of 0.1 to 18m.

* Clear visual diagnostics simplify set-up, operation and maintenance.

* Each receiver has selectable trip or latch output.
