Product certification services blooming
During October 2006 BABT issued the highest number of RTTE-D Annex IV opinions since the introduction of the RTTE-D in 2000.
BABT is accredited by RvA (the Dutch National Accreditation Body) to undertake PQC audits, typically taking a single day per year and meeting the requirements of the EU R and TTE Directive (Annexes II, III and IV), the BABT CNC (Certified for Network Connection) scheme, and the BABT 'tick' mark product safety certification scheme.
PQC certification also confers the right to free use of the influential 'BABT' approved' Octagon mark on literature, Web sites and packaging, thus affirming QMS certification.
PQC certification brings a number of advantages.
For example, in a market where major telecoms, radio and IT equipment suppliers are increasingly outsourcing manufacturing, it will assist sub-contractors to win business through holding an internationally-recognised QMS certification.
It will also allow certified manufacturers to demonstrate production test competence, enabling them to promote their capability to a worldwide audience via BABT's Web site.
About BABT BABT provides a full range of compliance solutions to the radio and telecoms industry to enable fast access to more markets.
Services include international compliance management, GSM/GPRS/WCDMA terminal testing, GSM/GPRS/EDGE/WCDMA base station conformance programme planning and conformity assessment, Bluetooth wireless technology product qualification, EMC, Environmental, Safety, Telecoms, RF and SAR Testing, regulatory conformance services, management systems certification, product certification and training.
