Standardized benchtop hydraulic or pneumatic presses, of 30-100kN capacity, can be customised for assembly, compression, punching, trimming, blanking, stamping, and coining applications.

Beckwood Press Company has introduced an affordable line of standardized benchtop presses The DJ Series includes standardized hydraulic and hydro-pneumatic presses within a 3-10 tonf (30-100kN) capacity range

All DJ Series presses offer high-speed, high-precision performance, said Beckwood to manufacturingtalk.com.

They are very suitable for, but not limited to the following.

* Assembly.

* Compression.

* Punching.

* Trimming.

* Blanking.

* Stamping.

* Coining.

These standardized systems can also be customised for, for example, applications requiring more stroke, non-standard shut height and/or bed size.

Vice president of Beckwood Press Company, Jeffrey E Debus, said: "We are seeing a growing demand within our existing customer base for cost efficient solutions that require standard presses in assembly and production cells, The new DJ Series presses will supply a competitive price point on smaller presses, and yet provide the support and expertise our customers have come to appreciate with their larger customized Beckwood press systems." Customers can choose from several standardized DJ Series models, with a wide array of user friendly features, all with a variety of options.

Each press goes through Beckwood's exhaustive Quality Control Certification Testing programme and is fully supported by the company's technical support and customer service departments.

* Assembly system - Beckwood recently designed an innovative automated assembly system for a leading heavy machinery manufacturer.

The system has been integrated with multiple robots for loading and unloading of part components, assembles and tests bushings to be used in tracked vehicles.

Pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders harmonize to achieve a high level of efficiency.

The 42 tonf (420kN) capacity machine features a programmable Allen Bradley touch screen operator interface for job storage and recipe handling.

The automation process begins after an independent robot has placed the bushing components onto the automated machine.

The compacting cylinders then extend to assemble the bushing.

A chain driven rotator is actuated to test the part's quality by spinning the bushing at 100 rev/min for 20s.

When part quality verification is complete a pneumatic cylinder extends and discharges the assembled bushing where a second independent robotic component removes the finished bushing from the machine.

* About Beckwood - the Beckwood Press Company utilizes proven and standard designs that are tailored to their customers' specific applications.

They offer a variety of low cost, high-quality hydraulic, hydro-pneumatic, and booster presses from 2-2000+ tonf (20kN-20MN).

These presses can be made for virtually any industry, with an unlimited amount of capabilities and options.

The company recently celebrated their 31st year in business in 2007.
