downturn effects

In 1997 Braby's business focus was the design and manufacture of aluminium silos largely for the plastics industry - while other industries such as food and pharmaceutical were served to a lesser degree.
The plateau of the plastics industry in the late 90's when many plastics manufacturers moved their facilities to the Far East led Braby to increase their stainless steel offering to a multitude of industries.
Working increasingly with stainless steel has allowed Braby to increase the range of products that their vessels are able to store; from hazardous chemicals such as pure nitric acid and solvents, to sugar and waste water.
Complex projects have also meant that Braby has invested in automation machinery to allow the more demanding vessels to be designed and constructed with precision accuracy.
The latest technology and recent investment in new machinery allows material to be cut and folded into complex shapes - vital for fitting intricate components together.
This means that customers can expect a vessel that is manufactured to the highest degree of accuracy no matter the complexity of the requirement.
The strategy has been successful and Braby is now one of the largest vessel manufacturers in the UK working with leading pharmaceutical and food processing companies as well as the water industry.
The company has grown over the past five years, due to their ability to change and diversify.
