Binary Resource Signs Up UK Sub-Distributor MexTec to Support Sales Drive

Binary Resource (UK) - a division of the company that originally developed the Ghost cloning software now owned by Symantec Corporation - has announced it has signed a UK sub-distribution agreement with MexTec The deal is part of a focused campaign by Binary to support Resellers and improve channel sales of the Universal Imaging Utility (UIU) solution across the UK and Ireland

Annette Dow, Director at Binary Resource said: "As well as training and supporting our channel partners in offering UIU to their diverse customer bases, MexTec will play a critical role in forming relationships with potential Resellers that have the specific expertise required".

"We are delighted to have such a competent team on board with the technical knowledge and real-world business experience that both our partners and customers demand." UIU 2.0 enables disk imaging (and thus the process of cloning) to be simplified and made considerably more efficient.

The time it would take to complete a cloning exercise across an enterprise, or even a department, is hugely reduced following its installation.

Therefore, IT resource can be refocused on business-development projects.

Gordon Mexted, Director at Mextec , said: "Imaging is a core IT process and a solution such as UIU, that slashes Imaging times and greatly improves efficiency by simplifying that process, is a very attractive offering to enterprise IT management".

"Organisations are increasingly turning to the single-Image solution that UIU can provide (in conjunction with a traditional Cloning application, such as Ghost or Altiris) because of the business benefits".

"IT resources can be focused on business-development tasks and Enterprise security is less likely to be compromised".

"We are very excited at the prospect of working with Binary Resource and it's channel partners in delivering UIU to the UK market." Cloning delivers considerable benefits in enabling change and application-management across the Enterprise.

It is also a critical component in ensuring Enterprise security.

UIU enables a single Image (including all required driver combinations) to be taken of a selected, ideal machine which has been set-up as a model that contains all the requisite Applications.

This Master Image is then replicated onto multiple machines using cloning software.
