Modular pressure switches bring flexibility
A modular concept has been used in the design, construction and assembly of compact pressure switches that allows for flexibility in application and specification.
For instance, the new range of field-adjustable XT pressure switches have been engineered to enable precision adjustments of setpoints between 1 and 600 bar with a maximum switching frequency of 60/min.
Featuring an IP65 protection level, the XT series is approved for Exi installations and incorporates micro switches equipped with silver or gold-plated contacts.
The new XTM diaphragm switch features an elastomer diaphragm-measuring element that can withstand temperatures ranging from -200degC to +800degC, with a typical repeatability of +/-2%.
Its counterpart, the XTK piston switch, incorporates a low-friction piston seal element, weighing only 0.34kg, which can operate to 600 bar.
Both have compact aluminium housings and are ideally suited to range of applications including hydraulic tool clamping, powerpacks and accumulators, cranes and off-road vehicles.
The highly compact KD range of mechanical pressure switches are available in four pressure ranges up to 300 bar and achieve a maximum switching frequency of 60/min.
Approved for Exi installations, the new factory-set KD switches feature low-friction pistons, which provide excellence vibration tolerance and are operable in temperatures ranging from -400degC to +800degC.
Suitable for mobile hydraulics, brake systems and hydraulic accumulator controls, the new KD mechanical pressure switches incorporate aluminium and brass housings, are easy to set-up and install, and represent the ideal pressure solution for a variety of industrial environments.
David Thomas, UK and Ireland Sales Manager at Barksdale, explained that the double launch reflected the commitment of the company to bring new technologies to the marketplace quicker.
