Precise, consistent chemical metering
A power plant used hydrazine as an "oxygen scavenger", and it was essential that it be delivered in a precise and consistent quantity.
Blacoh Fluid Control was approached by the GM of a 300 megawatt power plant that used a chemical feed system to deliver hydrazine to a boiler The hydrazine was used as an "oxygen scavenger", and it was essential that it be delivered in a precise and consistent quantity
While the metering pumps they used could deliver the hydrazine in precise amounts, their reciprocating action would not allow the delivery to be in a smooth and consistent flow.
To remedy the situation, Blacoh Fluid Control installed a sentry III Pulsation Dampener in the common discharge of the two metering pumps to create smooth and consistent flow.
Since installation, the Hydrazine is now delivered to the boiler in a precise and consistent quantity.
In addition, pipe vibration has been eliminated, gauge accuracy has been maximized, and pump component stress has been reduced.
