CFdesign provides digital prototyping platform for companies planning to use Inventor 2008

Blue Ridge Numerics has announced the availability of CFdesign upfront CFD software for Autodesk Inventor 2008 An integrated and fully associative extension of Inventor 2008, CFdesign is an interactive 3D flow bench and thermal test rig that provides engineers with the total product performance picture without the time and expense of building and testing physical prototypes

The ability to conduct extensive trade-off studies upfront in the design process leads to substantial downstream benefits including increased quality and innovation while reducing time-to-market, cost of goods sold and warranty exposure.

Changes made to geometry within Inventor 2008 are automatically reflected in CFdesign without any translation or conversion process, eliminating the time-consuming and confusing process of creating and managing multiple geometry models during a project lifecycle.

With CFdesign there is only ever one product model, which is updated and managed within the Inventor 2008 environment.

"Inventor 2008 makes it easier than ever for customers to add the power of 3D design to existing 2D design processes," says Blue Ridge president Ed Williams.

"CFdesign is an extremely valuable digital prototyping platform for companies planning to use Inventor 2008 to design machinery, electronics enclosures, pumps, valves and any kind of flow control device".
