Tube working machine builder exports 70%
The BLM Group - manufacturer of machines and systems for tube bending, end forming, production sawing and laser tube cutting - exports 70% of its EUR 93 million annual turnover.
BLM Group UK's 222m2 stand at MACH 2006 reflected the innovative thinking that has made the BLM Group of Italy a market-leading provider of high technology manufacturing solutions It is, in fact, the world's largest manufacturer of machines and systems for tube bending, end forming, production sawing and laser tube cutting

Laser tube cutting done in a single cycle
An Adige automated laser tube cutting system can machine in one cycle virtually any shape, however complex, on the end of a tube or at any point along its length.
Exports account for 70% of BLM GROUP's EUR 93 million annual turnover and a continuing R and D investment programme equates to 5% of annual turnover The UK subsidiary is based on Bedfordshire's Ampthill Business Park, from where Paul Lake, managing director, and his team, backed by the global resource, finance and know-how of the BLM Group ensure that UK customers receive a level of response and support way beyond industry-accepted norms.
The first commercially-available laser tube cutting system was introduced in 1988 by BLM Group member Adige of Italy, and its laser tube cutting systems are ideally suited to a wide range of applications in the manufacture of, for example, automotive components, furniture, earthmoving equipment, medical devices and structural frames.
Only one tool - the laser - is needed to eliminate various traditional operations, such as milling, punching, and notching, from the manufacturing cycle - and new parts, prototypes and design changes are all easily accommodated with just a few minutes spent programming the CAD/CAM software.
The BLM Group's flair for innovation can also be seen in its range of tube bending machines and systems.
Depending on the application, machines can be supplied with one or two bending heads and integrated loading and unloading systems, as well as catering for left and/or right hand bends in the same cycle with fixed and variable radii.
By eliminating secondary bending operations and the requirement for the welding together of two or more bent components, even the most complex of tubular frames can be completed in a single cycle.
The BLM Group's expertise, which extends to production sawing, cutting and finishing and 3D measurement and inspection, enables it to provide totally integrated production solutions tailored to the exact requirements of a particular market sector or application.
And it backs this with the very highest standards of after-sales service and support for the entire range of BLM Group products.
