BlueStar has announced that it is distributing the new MS1890 Focus industrial-grade hand-held imager from Metrologic Instruments Designed to withstand 2-m falls, the MS1890 Focus is an IP54-rated omnidirectional imager that can decode all standard bar codes with minimal concern for orientation or print quality thanks to patented FirstFlash technology

It reads codes damaged, worn or wrapped in clear plastic as well as captures up to seven bar codes in a single flash with Code Select technology, decoding them in any pre-determined order.

The MS1890 Focus also comes with TotalFreedom, an open system architecture that offers the opportunity to develop value-added custom application modules.

"The resilient MS1890 Focus is designed to overcome the often punishing conditions found in industrial settings," says Ebony Patterson, associate product manager for Metrologic.

"With its IP54 rating, it's ideal for scanning in harsh conditions such as dusty warehouses, steamy storerooms or rainy loading docks." "BlueStar welcomes the addition of Metrologic's MS1890 Focus omnidirectional hand-held imager.

It adds to our rugged industrial-grade offerings with its ability to read any standard bar codes - including those that are damaged," says Mark Fraker, BlueStar's VP of Marketing.
