Combining NDT and probing assures
integrity
By combining crack detection and physical measurement within one operation, Blum - Novotest can offer its customers considerable reductions in the overhead cost of quality assurance.
Assurance that a safety-critical part is all it seems to be has never been more significant to the automotive industry than it is now Blum Novotest has a well-established and proven record of designing and building bespoke post process measuring systems for the major automotive companies, as stand alone systems or integrated into complete manufacturing lines

Machine tool probes attract great MACH interest
Blum NovoTest reported that exhibiting at the recent UK MACH 2008 event brought 'remarkable' enquiry levels, including from users of multi-function, multi-axis machine tools.
In recent years the Blum Novotest company has added more technology to the measuring sequence including crack and porosity inspection this is to meet the ever increasing requirements of the industry where not only size conformity is required but part-integrity is essential.
The prime difficult with crack detection is the definition of a crack - what maybe a crack to one company in one area of a part is not necessarily so to another company or another part.
By taking full advantage of the advances in modern electronics and the substantial increase in computer power the Blum Novotest inspection systems can meet the criteria for high levels of total integrity on safety critical parts.

By combining crack detection and physical measurement within one operation, Blum - Novotest can offer its customers considerable reductions in the overhead cost of quality assurance.
The Blum Novotest crack detection machines dynamically measure surface conformity and detect cracks to a specified depth of material, most commonly at stress points on the part or surface porosity.
Machines can be a simple, manual load system, or any variant of it through to a fully automated integrated system for crack detection and surface measurement.
A wide variety of post process measuring and crack - porosity detection machines have been designed and built by Blum Novotest for the past years, primarily for both first and second tier suppliers to the automotive industry.
Customers include Audi, Mercedes, Volvo, Emag, Weiser Frontor and Hesapp.
All of the Blum Novotest crack detection machines are designed specifically for each application using tried and tested technology and the experience of twenty years.
The crack detection machines complement the metrology equipment and test rigs designed and manufactured by Blum Novotest group.
This includes the proven Blum LaserControl tool monitoring system, which permits tools to measured in as near as possible working conditions and at normal operating speeds in machining centres.
There is also the Blum range of touch probes for tool setting, which provides versatile probes to measure dimensions, wear and breakage, the Blum spindle probe for workpiece measurement, which determines workpiece position as well as thermal drift and tolerance deviation in machining centres, and the Novotest group.
The latter offers test stands for transmission for the world-wide automotive and aerospace industries and complete range of pulsating test stands for the hose lines.
