Blum Novotest will be demonstrating its full range of production metrology equipment at the EMO show in Hannover in September.
Blum systems are proven in over 14,000 applications world wide.
The range includes the LaserControl tool management system, the laser operated Blum tool presetting system, the Laser Micrometer, the Blum Bore Gauge and the recently launched Probe Z Nano.
The LaserControl tool management system and laser operated tool presetter will be demonstrated on the new Bridgeport VMC 600.
Over 40% of scrapped parts is due to the wrong tool being in the tool holder.
The Blum LaserControl tool management system, an in-process system for tool measurement and tool breakage detection, can prevent this by measuring in as near-as-possible to the real working environment.
The Blum laser operated system is sited within the machine, just outside the working envelope so is not intrusive to the machine's operation.
The laser beam strikes the tool prior to cutting, automatically providing length, diameter and tolerance information to the machine controller in as near operating conditions as possible.
The Laser Micrometer is designed to measure outside diameters accurately and quickly.
It can be used on lathes, cylindrical grinders, and all receiving inspections and is ideally suited for use with sensitive components.
The Blum bore gauge is designed to independently monitor the quality of tight tolerance fits and to determine the workpiece co-ordinates on machining centres and transfer lines.
It provides exceptionally high accuracy measurement of bore dimension, position, cylindrically and circularity, and can be used where independent quality control and/or documentation are needed.
The new Probe Z Nano, launched at the Tooling Show in 2001, has been designed to provide fast and precise probing in even the most hostile of conditions.
It is suitable for use with tools larger than 0.2mm diameter and with non-metallic tools.
