Probe offers multi direction measurement
A touch probe for turning centres and round work applications houses a measuring mechanism with face gear that significantly increases measurement accuracy when performing off-centre probing.
At MACH 2008 on Stand 5150 measurement specialists Blum NovoTest will be giving the new TC76-N touch probe its UK exhibition debut The new TC76-N touch probe for turning centres and round work applications is destined to be a major success at the UK's MACH 2008 machine tool exhibition

Radical touch probe offers a viable alternative to traditional multi-directional probe and provides a precise, fast, reliable, compact and therefore productive measuring system.
Non-contact tool setting system introduced
German metrology manufacturer will show a non-contact tool setting system, touch probes, tool length setting probe and software for in-process workpiece measurement at a UK GTMA event.
The new probe from the German market leading metrology manufacturer will give visitors to the booth in Hall 5 a true understanding of accuracy.
Designed for both tool and workpiece measurement in turning machines, the new TC76-N introduces Blum's new revolutionary Shark 360 multi direction measurement technology.
The patented Shark 360 design sees the TC76-N probe house a measuring mechanism with face gear that significantly increases measurement accuracy when performing off-centre probing by using cranked styli.
The Shark 360 system ensures that the self-centering stylus will only deflect in the opposite direction to the workpiece or tool upon contact.
Guaranteeing that the TC76-N will only probe in the direction required gives the user increased accuracy levels beyond that of competitor products.
Another benefit of the exciting new touch probe is its ability to operate via optoelectronic signal generation.
This system moves an internal pin in the touch probe through a light source that then triggers the probe upon meeting its datum point.
This new development further improves accuracy and most importantly generates no mechanical wear like competitor probes.
These attributes give the revolutionary new TC76-N a robust design that delivers optimal accuracy levels in all approach directions.
Additional attributes of the TC76-N probe include an LED display to inform the operator of the trigger state and an M16X1 (two pole) interface to suit most turning centres.
To enhance ease of use further, the modular design of the probe provides a number of available options and accessories to increase functionality.
