The instrument was designed to perform a multitude of measuring tasks, such as internal and external measurement of bores, threads, grooves, tapers, splines, shallow spigots and recessed diameters etc with the use of its simple add on accessories.

The gauges built in constant measuring pressure device help ease of use, ensuring consistency of result from operator to operator.

All of the Universals parts are interchangeable to enable the measurement of virtually any type of work piece, from 0-3000mm using modular extensions.

This could be the only gauge you will ever need! The universal gauge is available in a digital format giving access to the following features, min/max hold, preset facility, metric/inch conversion, tolerance indicators and R.S.232 output.

Alternatively the gauge is available with an inexpensive analogue indicator The Universal can be used as a hand held instrument or bench mounted, using the appropriate stands.

If the standard accessories are not suitable for a customer's application, Bowers is happy to quote for the manufacturing of anvils, contacts, extensions etc to suit any particular use.
