Bore gauges used in machine tool conditions

A Bowers Metrology product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Feb 20, 2006

In addition to being suitable for use within all normal gauging situations, cost effective bore gauges have advanced electronics with IP65 rating, rendering them resistant to coolant, water and dust.

As the worlds leading bore-gauge manufacturer, Bowers Metrology provides global industry the widest choice of high quality internal measuring devises currently available.

A previous winner of the coveted Queens Award for Export, this renowned, UK based business currently exports more than 80% of its output, from the company's recently expanded hi-tech Yorkshire manufacturing plant.

Always at the forefront of advancements within the field of internal measuring, Bowers are currently celebrating record sales of their recently launched, state-of-the-art XT Xtreme Bore Gauging range.

In addition to being suitable for use within all normal gauging situations, the new cost effective instruments are seen as the long awaited solution for those who need to use bore gauges within hostile measuring environments, such as within close proximity to machine tools.

Indeed many early sales of Bowers robust new gauges have been made for use on applications previously deemed entirely incompatible with the use of precise digital gauges.

Bowers' XT Xtreme's advanced new electronics boast a very impressive IP65 rating, rendering them resistant to coolant, water and dust.

Amongst a long list of useful features incorporated into these tough, accurate instruments are: - a clear digital display, metric/inch conversion, hard wearing extended travel carbide measuring anvils and an RS 232 output, enabling trouble-free data collection.

Available to measure standard bore sizes up to 300mm, Bowers will also manufacture inexpensive 'one-off' XT Xtreme instruments to cater for many other measuring applications, such as internal threads, grooves and spines.
