Tie rod cylinders offer 5x longer
service life
Offering up to 5 times the normal service life, tie rod hydraulic cylinders have features designed to reduce maintenance costs and increase system or machine uptime.
The Drive and Control Company, Bosch Rexroth has developed a new CDT3 series of tie rod hydraulic cylinders, offering up to 5 times the normal service life Tested in laboratory conditions, this outstanding performance results from a precisely designed and machined one-piece cylinder head, integral piston rod guidance, a modern sealing system and self-adjusting end position cushioning, all of which also help to reduce maintenance costs and increase system or machine uptime

Robot controls have high functionality
High functionality is combined with minimal space requirements in the rho4.0 robot and handling control introduced by Bosch Rexroth.
A very versatile cylinder design, which is capable of being utilised in a variety of applications requiring different operating characteristics, the CDT3 complies with ISO6020-2 and DIN24554 standards, so is fully interchangeable with competitive makes.
To ensure rapid availability, the new cylinder range is also being manufactured in the UK, at Rexroth's purpose-equipped production workshops in St Neots, which are certified to ISO9001.
Standard delivery will take less than 10 days, with an Express option enabling even shorter lead times for urgent orders.

Bosch Rexroth has developed a process for cleaning thermally-deburred components in one process operation, which isa djustable for different materials, and is environmentally friendly.
Advanced drives and controls ups roll form output
Advanced servo servo drive, hydraulics and control architecture has helped triple roll-formed fence paling output from 15m/min to 45m/min, as well as enhancing accuracy and quality.
MF welding is not necessarily specialised
Many automotive manufacturers use modern Medium Frequency Resistance Welding techniques that make less demand on plant power systems, shorten weld times and delivers greatly improved quality.
When the need for servicing eventually arises, the reduced number of parts allows speedier dismantling, reassembly and inspection, which is also undertaken at St Neots.
With a nominal pressure rating of 160 bar and a maximum of 210 bar, the CDT3 tie rod cylinder is offered in stroke lengths up to 3000mm and piston diameters between 25mm and 200mm, delivering stroke velocities up to 0.5m/s.
It is easy to install thanks to user-selectable positioning of the ISO type line connections, whilst there is also a choice of 14 different mounting configurations to suit most applications.
Rather than being assembled from separate components as on competitive models, the CDT3 cylinder head is precision machined from a single piece of ductile cast iron and incorporates an in-built rod bearing system, which provides highly accurate guidance, minimizes wear and accommodates axial loads far better.
The piston rod itself is hardchrome plated for smoother operation.
The self-regulating end position cushioning provides controlled deceleration in both positions and adjusts automatically to current application requirements, helping to optimize cycle times.
Available in standard and low energy cushioning systems to suit high and low velocities/pressures, this function can be specified with throttle or check valve operation, removing the need for externally mounted valves and reducing commissioning times.
Recognising that traditional bleed points are often a source of fluid spillage and potential cylinder failure, Rexroth has developed a patented air bleed system, which is secure against accidental removal and is compatible with standard minimess fittings.
Finally, there are four main seal types available: standard and reduced friction systems suitable for DIN mineral oils and others for HFC water glycol and HFD-R phosphate ester fluids.
The Rexroth CDT3 hydraulic cylinder series is detailed in a new catalogue that, with fold-out front and back covers, is designed to help customers assemble order codes for specific types and mounting configurations.
