By linking manual workplaces and stocking shelves, including material containers and track rollers, users now can do away with production waste.
Ultrasonics check welds in-process
With its PSQ ultrasonics quality assurance system, the Electric Drives and Controls Division of Bosch Rexroth has made a significant contribution to assure the quality of spot welds.
In comparison to other products, the system can be individually arranged to provide workers with a transparent and economical parts supply.
It follows the current trend to decrease automation in production and thus allows for higher flexibility, added Rexroth.
With the kanban principle, less material is in the production flow.

Thermally deburred parts cleaned in one
Bosch Rexroth has developed a process for cleaning thermally-deburred components in one process operation, which isa djustable for different materials, and is environmentally friendly.
Instead of stockpiling parts, which tie up capital, only the components actually needed to produce an order are delivered and supplied to production.
Rexroth said that it provides a modular system that can be arranged according to individual needs and purchased in an assembly kit, or completely assembled.
The Manual Production System is composed of three pillars - configurable workplaces and shelf systems, as well as the corresponding manual linking components.
Workplaces, and shelf systems can be designed according to demands and flexibly converted or expanded at a later point.
The price comprises the basic price and the price for the individual components used.
Simple connection technology and compatibility with all other products in Rexroth's modular assembly system allow for fast construction and conversion, said the company.
Thanks to the modular assembly system, the new tailor-made workplace comes in a wide range of variable dimensions and various materials for an individual and flexible design.
For example, workplaces can be equipped with material shelves, side panels, a reinforced strut extension, or power-wrench hangers that can be defined and ordered with a single part number.
Rexroth's shelf system comes with rollers in four different colours, so that stock information is immediately visible throughout the entire process thanks to the multi-coloured kanban system.
It also includes rollers with different diameters, flange rollers, corresponding sliding material and brakes for use in different applications.
The XLean version, made up of a steel profile and rollers with or without flange, is said to be a cost-effective alternative.
Lean and XLean can be used to supply materials and link stations throughout the production system and can also be implemented at the workplace, enabling process orientation according to the pull principle said Rexroth.
