Measuring system integrated for linear
guides
An integrated measuring system for linear guides now has adaptors for use with roller rail systems and they meet IP 67 requirements for harsh machine tool areas.
Rexroth has modified its Integrated Measuring System so that adapters will also be used for the roller rail systems The company has done this by changing the manufacturing process for the sensors

Robot controls have high functionality
High functionality is combined with minimal space requirements in the rho4.0 robot and handling control introduced by Bosch Rexroth.
In addition, all sensors meet protection class IP 67 requirements, which makes them suitable for applications in harsh machine tool environments.
This non-contacting and, therefore, wear-free mechatronics solution offers a resolution of up to 0.25 micron.
At the EMO 2007, Rexroth showed the latest versions of its Integrated Measuring System to Manufacturingtalk for sizes 35 through 65 of its roller rail systems with adapters available throughout.
The sensor on the runner block inductively records the position relative to a steel strip incorporated in the guide rail and running its entire length.
The strip serves as a scale and has a high-precision pitch.
The laser-welded tight strip-to-rail joint protects the scale in harsh production environments.
Thanks to a new adapter design, the sensor can be replaced separately from the runner block during servicing.
Rexroth applies special manufacturing techniques to produce the scale, making it possible to fabricate measuring systems of up to 4000mm in one piece.
The sensors with integrated signal conditioning electronics can supply analog (1 Vpp) or digital (TTL) signals.
The inductive measuring system is insensitive to magnetic or electrical interference fields.
With their IP 67 protection class, the sensors will deliver an excellent measuring accuracy of +/-3 micron over a guide length of 2500mm, and +/-5 micron for a measuring length of 4000mm, even under harsh production conditions subject to oil, metalworking fluids, water, and shavings.
