On-line performance review gets 90% response

Excavation equipment manufacturer JCB has enjoyed over 90% completion rate from 945 staff in two months with on-line performance review system.

At their World Headquarters in Rocester, Human Resources within JCB have successfully implemented an on-line performance review process, which had to provide 360 degree feedback on 1200 staff, totalling over 6500 respondents.

Within one month of distributing the questionnaires, HR saw an improved return of completed forms, but most importantly experienced a smooth implementation and a process which ran with little overhead on the HR function.

Following a thorough analysis of their existing processes, Bowland Solutions provided an on-line system which used JCB's existing competency frameworks, questions and report formats.

It also integrated with their on-line CV application, within which employees complete their CV before an automated workflow alert prompts them to then complete their appraisals.

A centralised reporting process enables managers at JCB to analyse and review trends across departments.

We have enjoyed a 91% completion rate with the minimum of administrative burden." JCB is one of the biggest construction and agricultural equipment manufacturing companies in the world.

Employing over 6000 people it produces 180 different models on four different continents - with bases in the UK, India and South America.
