A single-wavelength, high precision laser for interferometery and Raman imaging will be shown at Laser World of Photonics 2007, as well as a new Web site.

New Focus, a division of Bookham will be launching a single-wavelength, high precision laser at Laser World of Photonics, 2007 The Integral laser, which will be demonstrated live on the New Focus stand (B1.622), is designed for precision metrology, including interferometery and Raman imaging and spectroscopy

The laser's high stability, narrow linewidth and tiny footprint make it ideal for enabling high precision measurements in demanding applications, including terahertz generation, fibre gyroscopes and LIDAR.

"The new Integral laser demonstrates once again our commitment to producing highly stable and reliable products," said Ken Ibbs, general manager for New Focus.

"With this new laser, and our extensive photonics portfolio, we are targeting significant markets in Europe, including the spectroscopy, industrial laser, laser systems and scientific research sectors".

New Focus will give live demonstrations of a number of products, including position-sensitive detectors, closed-loop motorized rotary stages, GuideStar OEM active-beam alignment systems, Granite OEM light-management solutions, and vacuum and ultraclean solutions.

New Focus has also chosen Laser 2007 to launch its new, revamped company website which allows improved ease-of-use through dynamic navigation, coupled with the company's 24/7 global e-commerce system.
