'Extracts' of labels
When BP Labels printed the labels for Waitrose 'Extracts' family range, the challenge was to come up with premium looking products to be sold at family range prices
"The key feel we needed our labels to achieve was that of 'quiet sophistication'," explains Keith Postle, Operations Director at BP Labels.
"The new range needed to complement the rest of the quality and style of the Cowshed products and spa." Keith and his team developed labels on PE to ensure durability from both the material and the inks.
"All the colours were soft and muted, not garish, and were designed to work without clashing".
"Plus the inks and varnishes we used had to give superb product and transit resistance at all times," Keith adds.
Technically, the Cowshed labels were produced as a combination process of UV Flexo and UV Screen, to give strong depth of colour especially when producing the copy in a very light grey, one of the colours used.
Chloe Martin, Product Co-ordinator at Cowshed, has worked closely with BP Labels throughout the development of the new labels.
"We were delighted not only with the quality of the finished labels but also with the professional and dynamic approach taken by BP Labels at all times," said Chloe.
"Our deadlines were pretty tight and BP Labels always came up trumps, really bending over backwards to work with our timings and our team.".
