J S Bruce Engineering have been appointed as UK distributor for the internationally recognised Somex range of machining units and components for special purpose machines These products, designed and manufactured to exacting standards, can achieve high levels of automation in drilling, tapping, milling and grinding operations

Somex equipment is widely specified for in-house engineering and metalworking applications, including approved suppliers of all aspects of the private and commercial vehicle automotive trade as well as manufacturing suppliers for other methods of transport covered by air, sea and rail.

The Somex products available through J S Bruce Engineering are also particularly suited to the increased production capacity of modern machine tools in sub-contracting markets, where higher levels of set-up changes and speedy adaption to changing customer requirements need to be accommodated.

Typical Somex automation equipment currently available includes tapping heads, together with drill heads and slides which can be supplied for pneumatic, hydraulic and CNC operation.

Milling and grinding spindles, together with spindle units up to 40,000 rev/min are also available, together with multi-spindle heads, angle heads and gun drilling units.

Flexible machining modules can also be supplied to suit specific application requirements, to capitalise on both production capabilities and profitability.
