A successful ISO 9001 audit proves that a corporation's quality management systems have been certified against the International organisation for standardisation's best practice standard and found compliant.
In this latest audit, 12 organisations including BT Infonet's Global Customer Assistance centre, Global Network Security Operations and Network Control centres in Brussels, Belgium and El Segundo, CA were randomly audited based on a predefined sampling plan.
The audit included a review of departmental quality objectives, continual improvement processes, corrective and preventive actions, customer satisfaction survey results, document and data control, quality records and adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
The audit returned zero non-conformances, a rarity for ISO 9001 audits.
BT Infonet has now received zero non-conformances for its previous three ISO 9001 audits.
"We were one of the first communications companies to implement ISO 9000 and 9001 certifications as part of our overall commitment to quality management," said Ron Schodt, Director of Quality Programs for BT Infonet.
"Our regular ISO 9001 audits help us improve our internal processes and minimise the risk that client expectations are not met, the result of which is exceptional levels of client satisfaction, a quality that has always been a hallmark of BT Infonet".
