CNC machine tool company joins the BGA
The British Gear Association's latest member is a company which supplies CNC machine tools to a number of industries.
The process utilises a Barkhausen Noise Analysis (BNA) non-destructive technique to evaluate residual stresses and microstructural changes in steels.
It is applicable to control grinding, heat treatment and shot peening processes on products such as bearings, gears, camshafts, crankshafts, valves and landing gear.
The results are used for adjusting production parameters to reduce production waste and cost and are effective tools in the study of material properties and development of new components, processes and solutions.
