BT Rolatruc has introduced the high-performance stand-in truck, BT Tow Truck TSE300, for a wide range of towing and order-picking duties with a new steering system called E-man.

The BT Tow Truck TSE300 from BT Rolatruc is a high-performance stand-in truck for a wide range of towing and order-picking duties demanding intensive work with loads up to three tonnes It is designed for efficiency, safety and ease-of-use

This is largely achieved by a completely new steering system called E-man, which is the key interface between operator and truck.

The concept is to provide fast and efficient operation with advanced safety features.

A mini tiller arm offers power-assisted steering that can be safely operated with only one hand.

And the operator's hand will never need to be outside the profile of the truck - a 60deg movement in the tiller arm providing 100deg of lock on the steering.

An optional feature is that the whole control unit can, at the flick of a switch, be moved towards the right or left-hand sides of the truck body, to suit each operator and each operation.

For example, for applications in which the operator needs to walk alongside the truck, the handle can be moved to the appropriate side.

The offset position of the tiller arm also makes reversing easier, as the operator can have the tiller arm at his or her side whilst turned to face the forks.

A platform switch limits the maximum speed, and the steering angle to a maximum of 20deg, when the operator is not in the driver compartment.

This improves safety and greatly reduces the risk of the operator running the truck over his or her feet.

Maximum speed is also limited at steering angles greater than 25deg.

For convenience, the drive wheel automatically centres when the tiller arm is released. The TSE300's BT Powerdrive system offers a host of benefits.

Simple CAN-Bus wiring connects a central processor - which monitors and controls all performance aspects of the truck - to a powerful and efficient separately operated motor.

Smooth, powerful performance is assured in all operating conditions due to the combination of the motor and a switchless control system.

Drive wheel wear is reduced thanks to electronic braking, which is also regenerative, improving operating times by up to 10 percent.

he simplicity of the BT Powerdrive system means fewer components than conventional designs, resulting in greater reliability and lower maintenance costs.

The TSE300 also features secure access with ten individual parameter settings for up to 100 drivers, activated by PIN code.

Top speed (maximum 12km/h), acceleration rate, and speed reduction can all be programmed to suit.

TSE300 models can accommodate batteries from 465 - 620Ah.

Battery change is upwards, or sideways with optional rollers.

Other options include: Folding seat, Ergo backrest, with extra storage compartments, Bracket for PC or radio data terminal, Shrinkwrap holder, Writing table, Ergo platform, with extra damping for maximum comfort, The draw bar is within easy reach of the driver compartment on all models, Step-in height is a comfortable 130mm.
