The goal in making these changes is always to serve customers better, by improving the range and quality of products and services available and at the same time establishing more efficient operations.
The first step in this process in the UK will be the combination of the current activities of Toyota Industrial Equipment (UK) Limited ("TIEUK") and BT Rolatruc Limited ("BTR") into a new entity, Toyota Material Handling UK Limited ("TMHUK").
The creation of TMHUK marks the start of an exciting new era for the UK materials handling industry.
By combining the strengths of the existing highly successful Toyota and BT organisations, TMHUK will be ideally placed to deliver the very highest levels of customer service through a coordinated, efficient and solutions driven approach.
TMHUK will be investing strongly in additional resources to enable it to reach its objectives and initial plans indicate the need to recruit more than 200 additional sales and service staff throughout the UK to support this growth.
The new organisation will be led by Mike Mathias (Managing Director) and Steve Hodkinson (Deputy Managing Director), supported by a senior management team drawn from the two existing companies.
TMHUK is expected to become operational before the end of 2007 and both management teams are working closely together to ensure a smooth transition.
Employees, dealers, customers and other important stakeholders will be kept up to date with progress through a comprehensive communications programme.
The bringing together of the Toyota and BT brands under one roof represents the most significant development in the UK materials handling industry for many years.
The formation of TMHUK will offer customers, large and small, the benefit of a market leading range of quality products and services from a single source.
