Designed for a variety of applications, the series Balluff BOD optical sensors are ideal for positioning tasks such as level detection, material jam control or detection requiring expanded background suppression techniques The Balluff distance sensors detect the presence of metallic or non-metallic objects and indicate their precise position

They operate on the principle of laser triangulation.

Versions include the laser and red light distance sensors with analogue and switching output (BOD66), and laser only without switching output (BOD 26) and the 'Mini Sensor' (BOD 6) for positioning requirements.

The Balluff BOD 66M Red Light distance sensors both monitor and measure distance - this is becoming increasingly important in today's industry where both maximum range and high resolution are demanded.

Balluff achieves this using triangulation techniques and modern CCD technology, but the BOD 66M-R-01 can do even more.

It has an analogue voltage or current output plus switch output.

This means it can be used simultaneously for measuring or monitoring distances and for object detection in the diffuse sensors configuration with background suppression (HGA).

The BOD 66M-R-01 works with red light over a measuring range of 100.600mm, achieving a resolution of 0.5mm.
