Designed for harsh applications that require reliable thru-beam sensing, angle sensors offer advantages over conventional fibre optic sensors when used on machines and conveyors.

Designed for harsh applications that require reliable thru-beam sensing, Balluff's new BWL angle sensors combine unparalleled sensing precision with unmatched ease of use.

An addition to its popular BGL line, Balluff's new BWL thru beam angle sensor is a vast improvement over conventional fibre optic and thru-beam sensors when used on machines and conveyors.

One-piece "plug and play"BWL sensors feature pre-aligned angled optics integrated into a family of metal bodies, allowing fast, accurate installation without the need for special brackets or complex beam alignment procedures.

This product represents an elegant solution to a variety of practical problems and is available with angle slot lengths from 22mm to 62mm allowing for maximum versatility.

"The new Balluff BWL's allow a level of precision and ease of installation that is a quantum leap over standard fibre optic technology.

First of all, BWLs are always in alignment, so they are a 'breeze' to install," comments Balluff Product Manager, Adrian Sorsby.

"Not only that, they are accurate over the entire length of their beams and their unique mechanical design means they offer new possibilities for mounting and detection of parts for position or orientation control.

Balluff Industry Manager, Jim Wallace, notes "The BWL housing is made from a single piece of corrosion resistant steel ensuring their suitability for the harshest of industrial assembly, handling or robotics environments.

Balluff have a complete range of photoelectric measurement sensors ranging from 20mm to 6000mm detection.
