Along with the current 60mm stroke version, a 160mm stroke miniature non-contact displacement sensors offer non-contact continuous positioning information.

Balluff have added a new 160mm stroke length to their miniature non-contact displacement sensors range - BIL This sensor along with the current 60mm stroke version offers non-contact continuous positioning information from a mini-proportioned sensor, only 15 x 15mm profile, all sealed and potted to IP67

The BIL is ideal for monitoring pneumatic clamp position, just strap to the outside of the cylinder and it will pick up on the cylinder magnet to give a precise and continuous absolute position.

The BIL small proportions means they can also be used for monitoring robot gripper status or linear motion on packaging machinery, and the non-contact technology means they offer an ideal replacement for those troublesome potentiometers.

The unique technology inside the magneto-inductive BIL enables its small design and high resolution.

The use of a flat inductive coil and a special ASIC means that the unit can be completely self-contained, needing no separate amplifiers, and sealed to IP67 giving high immunity to vibration and moisture.

Simply supply the BIL with 24V DC in through the M8 connector and it gives out a 0-10V and 4-20mA signal back proportional to the position of the small magnet position marker.

Balluff have a complete range of photoelectric measurement sensors ranging from 20mm to 6000mm detection.
