High temperature aero-engine metal has to be cut by a subcontractor at exactly the correct feeds and speeds to avoid 'work hardening' during the cutting process.
Supported in the UK and Ireland by Burcas extensive technical expertise users can now achieve precise knife guidance, with the use of knife holders for winders starting at a strip width of 16mm, sheeters up to 1000g/m2 and slitting lines operating at up to 3000m/min.
Using the very best technology, the Dienes DF family of knife holders incorporates pre-loaded, caged ball bearing sets, with zero clearance, supporting both the vertical and horizontal stroke travel of the holders.
The dual caged ball bearing sets on the vertical stroke prevent torsion, or side twist, of the knife blade lower head, while a pre-loaded caged ball beating supports the knife blade on the lower housing, also preventing blade twist.
This arrangement provides precise adjustment of knife depth and reliable and exact positioning of the knife with integrated 360 deg knife guard.
Following the recently announced partnership between Dienes, Germany and Midlands-based knife specialists, Burcas, users in UK and Ireland can benefit from a greatly expanded range of premium knife holding systems.
Managing director of Burcas, Mike Burrows, said: "With its long tradition of developing innovative, high quality products, Dienes can justly claim to be a leading provider of industrial cutting applications.
These state-of-the-art knife holding solutions, including the patented Dienes Knife Pilot Easy Set positioning aid, offer real productivity benefits to our customers throughout the UK and Ireland.".
