Bureau Veritas strengthens UK Hardlines

Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services has appointed Chris Davey, General Hardlines manager, and John Trinci, Toys and Nursery Products manager.

Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services (BVCPS), global leader in consumer product testing, inspections and auditing services, announces the appointments of Chris Davey, General Hardlines manager, and John Trinci, Toys and Nursery Products manager Both roles will be based at BVCPS' Hardlines testing facility in Altrincham, Cheshire, UK

BVCPS' Hardlines testing covers products such as toys and nursery items, sporting goods, hardware, electrical appliances, garden furniture and premium gifts.

BVCPS' customer-led approach requires an experienced team of quality testing professionals to support customers and assist them in marketing quality goods to the UK market.

Prior to joining BVCPS Davey held the role of operations manager/deputy general manager with a global testing and inspection organisation.

Davey is an experienced mechanical engineer with 16 years' experience in testing environments.

In his new position with BVCPS, Davey will be responsible for developing the business, relocating the hardlines business to a new site and introducing strategies which provide the base for supporting BVCPS customers in the UK whilst promoting its services in Asia.

Davey will also be charged with the general day-to-day running of the Company, ensuring clients expectations are met and exceeded, providing training and support for BVCPS' offices worldwide and ensuring all work carried out complies with BVCPS' internal and global quality manuals.

Trinci has 17 years' experience within the quality testing field, latterly as Safety, Test and Standard manager with Mamas and Papas where Trinci was responsible for setting up and running a test laboratory, investigating customer quality and safety related complaints and advising commercial managers and suppliers of new safety standards and legislation.

Within his new role at BVCPS, Trinci will be charged with expanding the toy testing services and further developing the comprehensive nursery testing service.

John will also act as a technical resource for BVCPS' Far East facilities and will liaise with the Far East on UK customers' behalf.

Trinci is a member of several BSI Committees for toys and nursery products; he also regularly acts as an expert witness on behalf of Trading Standards in court cases regarding toy safety issues.
