Horizontal Arm CMM works 24/7 at Nissan
Hexagon Metrology has successfully delivered and installed its industry-leading 'Vento R-SF' Horizontal Arm CMM ahead of Nissan's deadline.
The Romer ScanShark is scalable and offered in three configurations - an inspection solution with PolyWorks/Inspect, a reverse-engineering solution with PolyWorks/Modeler, and the full inspection/reverse engineering package with PolyWorks Inspect and Modeler.
The ScanShark product line is designed to help control the quality of parts, tooling, and assemblies during every phase of manufacturing.
With precision scanning and probing capabilities, operators can identify errors or deviations in the production process, inspect first assembled parts, check tool wear and part quality, and perform final part verification.
"The Romer ScanShark is an ideal solution for the dimensional control challenges of today's manufacturer," states Tom Moran, president of Romer "The quality assurance landscape calls for metrology systems that are multi-tasking and flexible for greater return on their investment.
The portable ScanShark can enhance any quality assurance program and their bottom line".
Key Ingredients of ScanShark The ScanShark combination of articulating arm measurement with laser scanning enables maximum surface inspection of a workpiece.
The premium ScanShark 4Vi laser scanning probe enables rapid data collection at 23,000 points per second.
The ultra-lightweight scanner can be used to quickly acquire large, geometrically complex areas with direct integration with PolyWorks software.
The non-contact device is ideal for generating point clouds for reverse engineering applications, identifying part surface errors, and checking deformable objects made from thin or soft materials such as: fabrics, leather, foam, rubber, plastic, sheet metal and similar materials.
The Romer seven-axis INFINITE CMM is available in 6-, 8-, 9-, 10- and 12-foot measuring envelopes.
The articulated arm features the Romer patented "infinite rotation" and integral low-profile Zero-G counterbalance that reduces user fatigue.
The advanced carbon-fibre arm tubes are both dimensionally stable and lightweight for ergonomic handling.
The system's optional rolling cart base allows the system to be easily transported all over the factory for real-time inspection and data acquisition.
