Horizontal Arm CMM works 24/7 at Nissan
Hexagon Metrology has successfully delivered and installed its industry-leading 'Vento R-SF' Horizontal Arm CMM ahead of Nissan's deadline.
Hexagon Metrology told manufacturingtalk that this enhancement improves accuracy and speed for shop floor measurement and inspection.
The Pioneer has a highly optimised aluminum orifice air bearing system, which provides greater reliability and superior stiffness, said Sheffield, especially when combined with precision machined dove-tail guide ways.
Pioneer also has the following features.
* A sturdy one piece granite table.
* Heidenhain high resolution scales.
* Micro-machined aluminum alloy X beam and Z ram construction.
As with all Sheffield CMMs, Pioneer has, as standard, the PC-DMIS defacto standard metrology software.
Sheffield sales manager, Steve Bjorkman, said that the Pioneer is reshaping the entry-level CMM market with design elements once only found on very high end CMMs.
he said: "From the mechanical design, to the construction techniques, to the controller technology, Pioneer represents some of the best innovations from Hexagon Metrology wrapped up in a highly affordable package".
Pioneer also offers a range of Swiss Tesastar touch trigger probing options.
