Dr Todini will discuss designing and rehabilitating water distribution networks to reduce pipe flow losses from leakage.
"Leakage rates are over 40 percent in Italy, and they are even higher in other countries," explains Dr Todini.
"To reduce these losses, it is critical that water distribution professionals learn how to efficiently design new networks and rehabilitate existing networks".
Dr Todini has been chair of Hydrology at the University of Bologna since 1980.
His research activities, documented by more than 190 articles, focus on both the theory and practical application of water modeling.
In 1978, he invented an algorithm for the analysis of looped water distribution networks.
The algorithm is now the basis of most modern water distribution modeling systems, including Bentley's WaterCAD and WaterGEMS products.
Other presentations at the seminar will include:.
* A real-world look at integrated modeling to detect and quantify water losses.
* Locating and reducing water losses using WaterCAD V8 XM Edition and WaterGEMS V8 XM Edition from Bentley's Haestad Methods Solution centre.
* The importance of working with interoperable solutions.
* The features and benefits of other Bentley water resource modeling solutions, including HAMMER, SewerCAD, and SewerGEMS. Request free introductory details about products from Bentley Systems ...
