The British Coatings Federation (BCF) has announced that Geoffrey Podger will attend the BCF Annual Update Seminar and present the prestigious Coatings Care Awards

The BCF has announced that Geoffrey Podger, the new Chief Executive of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), will attend the BCF Annual Update Seminar and present the prestigious Coatings Care Awards on Thursday, 21st September, at the Nottingham Gateway Hotel.

The Update Seminar, which is open to both BCF members and non-members, will provide a comprehensive and professional insight into UK and EU legislation and topical technical issues as they affect coatings and inks manufacturers.

There will be presentations by industry experts on a range of health, safety and environmental issues including: the forthcoming Global Harmonisation System for classification and labelling and changes to CHIP; waste product and container classification; new fire safety legislation; as well as coatings and inks food safety issues.

The Coatings Care Programme is an international initiative, endorsed by both IPPIC, International Paint and Printing Ink Council, and CEPE, the European Confederation of Coatings Manufacturers, and organised in the UK by BCF.

With over 600 Chief Executives in 20 countries having signed up, Coatings Care promotes best practice in four vital areas of responsibility: manufacturing, transport and distribution, product stewardship and the community.
