Plastics Colouring Pigment Wins FDA
Approval
BASF pigment preparation Eupolen PE Blue 69-1501 for colouring of plastics has received FDA approval.
BASF pigment preparation Eupolen PE Blue 69-1501 for colouring of plastics has received FDA approval That means it may be used in plastics that come in to contact with food and that it has outstanding colour strength for the colouring of plastics, with low warping in polyolefins, said BASF
The pigment is supplied in a free-flowing, low-dust form for clean and problem-free processing, added the company.
Eupolen PE Blue 69-1501 has received FCN (Food Contact Notification) approval from the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
As a result, Eupolen PE Blue 69-1501 can be used in concentrations up to two per cent in plastic items that come in to contact with food, including closures for drink bottles, crates for fruits and vegetables, freezer boxes, drink cans, plastic cups and packaging films.
