UK's 'Factory of the Year' named
A factory that has saved GBP 10.4million over four years by introducing new manufacturing processes has been named as the Deloitte Factory of the Year during a recent UK Best Factory Awards ceremony.

In all 13 awards were presented in the scheme which is run by Cranfield School of Management in partnership with Works Management magazine.
Factory visits to short-listed production plants were made over the summer and Dr Marek Szwejczewski, Director of the Best Factory Awards, says this year's competition has highlighted numerous success stories: "British manufacturing is not dead and the award scheme proves that you can manufacture in the UK, and make a profit.
