Cranfield School of Management has launched the Cranfield Corporate Partnership, creating an exclusive environment where education and industry work together for mutual benefit.

EWS, the rail freight logistics operator, has been announced as the founding partner in the Corporate Partnership.

Gerry Skelton, Human Resources Director of EWS, said being a corporate partner was already paying dividends: "EWS is a key player in the logistics market in Britain, and it is developing expansion plans in mainland Europe.

Development of our people and filling vacancies with the right candidates is crucial for us.

In working with the Cranfield School of Management we have already seen a tangible benefit as a result of the Partnership as we develop our business.

We look forward to developing a closer, mutually beneficial relationship." Organisations which join the Partnership will enjoy a wide range of Cranfield benefits and services including: " a dedicated online 'members only' information portal " early opportunities to meet and recruit Cranfield students and graduates " access to the School's latest research " the opportunity to contact faculty members and customised executive development consultants " preferential places on selected programmes " and a dedicated Partnership manager to ensure that partners maximise their involvement with Cranfield.

Rachel Fulcher, Corporate Development Officer, said: "We have been overwhelmed by interest in the Partnership and we are delighted that EWS saw the opportunity of becoming the founding partner.

The benefits that EWS are enjoying from the Partnership show the advantages companies have from joining." The Cranfield Corporate Partnership is aimed at senior managers within organisations that share Cranfield's commitment to business success and innovation.

It is a mechanism designed to create the most effective and beneficial relationship between the School and a number of selected leading companies.

Membership of The Cranfield Corporate Partnership is limited to 15 Founding Partners in year one which commit to working with the School for a minimum of three years.
