Five-axis VMC offers high surface finish
Five-sides/5-axis vertical machining centre offers uperior parts surface finish and accuracy owing to a high-rigidity cast frame structure, which minimises vibration.
EMO 2005 saw the world launch of the CFV5 5-axis vertical machining centre, which incorporates a dedicated table solution bringing full 5-axis, 5-sided large capacity machining capability to the popular range of tried and tested CFV vertical machining centres The CFV5 with 5-axis integrated rotary table technology comfortably machines workpieces up to 400mm in diameter and 300mm high, and has up to 150 deg tilt capability

Two five-axis VMCs are precise
Vertical machining centre with a dedicated 5-axis table will be making its world debut, along with a fixed table VMC, which will be seen in Europe for the first time.
Fixed table VMC has 5-axis spindle head
Fixed table vertical machining centre with a 5-axis spindle head performs full 5-sided machining making it an ideal choice for aerospace, precision machining and die and mould applications.
Superior parts surface finish and accuracy is achieved from the high-rigidity cast frame structure, minimising chatter and vibration for a flawless finish.
The CFV5 was shown at EMO 2005 with a leading CNC control from GE Fanuc, the 18i-MB5, providing both positioning and simultaneous 5-axis machining capability.
The high speed 'Si' version was demonstrated on the CFV5 at EMO, with its optional 20,000 rev/min integral HSK-63A spindle, ideal for mould and die machining and aerospace structures.
All models within the full CFV range boast ample 540mm Y-axis travel, generous 585mm throat distance and vertical front guard face, maximising the working envelope.
As with the range of 3-axis CFV vertical machining centres, performance packages are available to tailor the machine with the application.
The 'CFV5-i' package is standard offering for 5-axis precision machining, with high speed and high torque spindles available as an option.
The 'CFV5-Si' is ideal for the production of dies and aerospace parts that require both simultaneous 5-axis machining and 5-axis positioning.
The 20,000 rev/min spindle ensures a smooth and accurate surface finish, and the CFV5-Si provides the flexibility to produce both large aluminium parts and intricate pieces on the same machine.
