This development of non-cartesian kinematics principles is seen as the optimal solution for Cross Hueller's market segment.
The Z axis of the machine is driven by conventional ball screw.
The direct driven rotary table (B axis) and the 4 piezo-actuators (A axis) compensate for rotational misalignments.
Machine traverses include an X-axis stroke of 630mm, Y-axis stroke of 630mm (centre 1065mm and Z-axis stroke of 750mm.
Machine width is 1700mm.
Stiffness for the spindle / fixture, X / Y axes is greater than 30N/æm.
Position uncertainty (planned) is 5micron.
Motor spindle has a HSK 63 tool adapter.
Driving power (100% ED) is 60kW and spindle torque (100% ED) is 38Nm.
Spindle speed is 20.000 rev/min.
Acceleration time to reach 10.000 rpm / 20.000 rpm is 0,45 / 0,9s Feed and rapid traverse rate in the X-axis is 120 m/min, Y-axis is 120m/min and Z-axis is 60m/min.
Acceleration in the X/Y-axes is about 15 m/sec2 and in the Z-axis, about 10 m/sec2.
Control is Siemens Sinumerik 840 D.
